Steelproduction - Duisburg Meiderich - Germany
It was a hard and hot job, but now it is quiet and cold out here on the 70 meter high tower.
The furnace was closed down in 1985 an now it is a wonderful outdoor area.It was a hard and hot job, but now it is quiet and cold out here on the 70 meter high tower.

I like these indudtustrial views, they amke very good silhouettes against the skies.
How times are changing and this kind of industry becomes heritage : well illustrated.
Thank you very much for your appreciation of my skywatch, I enjoyed reading your compliment, in German; it's a language that I enjoy very much, but I lost my knowledge of writing it myself.
I love the peek-a-boo shots up through to the sky!
You and your camera are very welcome to Norway anytime;)
But right now it's so much rain that I can't see the sky or mountain.
You shots today is wonderful every time I get here! And now I think that it must be fun to stay on that 70 m higt tower and take some wonderful shots!

Great photos!
Thank you for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
God helg!
So many closed plants - looks like it could get worse.
Makes a good subject for photographers.
Wunderbare Tour vom alten Industriegebiet.
Beautiful photo's. Germany is such a beautiful country. I lived in Wiesbaden for three years in the early 90's!!
Take care and thank you for commenting on my blog.
I don't speak German, so I can only imagine what you are saying. You have a nice blog. I have tagged you for a return visit.
Those are all great shots! I like the way you shot the sky and the machines.
Good to hear that witnesses of our industrial past are not only treated as the heritage they are, but also given new life, hopefully assuring their survival for generations to come.
You not only documentated these buildings beautifully, but interpreted them in a very artistic way, great skywatch contribution.
Hi Torsdag; Interessante Bilder und Kommentar; what happens when a industry has come to an end? something new can be born to the pleasure of all.
nice shots. i particularly love the last one with the silhoutte against the blue sky.
Sehr schöner Bilder. Sehr gut gemacht und sehr interessant!

What an interesting place. The glimpse of the sky must have been a welcome thing back in the day.

These closing industrial sites have really fueled the rising UrbEx phenomenon - especially over here.
Your shots here and throughout your blog are fantastic!
Thanks for your visit and your compliments on my site! :) Hello from Canada!
Hei og takk for kommentar!
Very interresting and nice pictures you show us. Tells a story.
My second picture was actually taken on the 24th of September this year. (Some of the trees are getting yellow.) I thought the motive was Elgsjøen.
Have a nice week-end!
